Tim Burton's Aesthetic
It's Showtime! Alright, so there's no possible way I could mimic the exact bizarre and eccentric craft that we like to call "The Tim Burton Aesthetic." What I can do is break down the original 1988 film, Beetlejuice, to understand what makes this such an iconic masterpiece. I found some glaringly obvious must-haves to create the perfect Beetlejuice aesthetic. That is how this bathroom was born. If your new here, that's what I do. Check out this Coraline Bathroom if you don't believe me. For this bathroom, it is important to have the creator Tim Burton’s signature style is on full display. Blending Gothic, Victorian, and cartoonish elements. So with out further ado, make my millennium and redecorate your bathroom in this Beetlejuice design style.
Tile Selection for a Beetlejuice Bathroom Design
If there is ever an appropriate time to use a striped floor pattern, this is it - immediately yes, put it in the cart. Drawing inspiration from the character Deelia Deetz, concrete abstract sculptures, this striped floor tile is made out encaustic tile. Encaustic tiles are often handmade, and made of concrete - how fitting!
To capture Tim Burton's style, going full pop surrealism with the tile is huge. To get the drippy effect of the lime green glass tile, they will need to be scribed into the large format 12x24 cement looking porcelain. This is when tile installers trace one tile out on another, and then cutting out there trace. This allows the pattern to flow seamless into the next tile, with out breaking it up with a harsh, straight grout line.

Fixtures for a Beetlejuice Bathroom Design
In Beetlejuice, death and life are used as transitional themes that blur the lines between the living and the afterlife. In interior design, the mix of old-world elements like intricate carvings, metalwork, and ornamentation (as seen in the lighting and mirror) with modern clean lines and minimalistic features (as seen in the plumbing fixtures) is often referred to as transitional design or eclectic design.
The purple vessel sink is in homage to the character Beetlejuice with those deep dark purple circles around his ghoulish eyes. Purple, being complimentary to our other pop of color, lime green in the tile work, is only fitting for the eclectic design itself.

Decor Ideas for Beetlejuice Bathroom Design
A Beetlejuice-inspired bathroom decor would blend gothic, quirky, and whimsical elements from the film with bold contrasts and distinctive touches that evoke its playful yet eerie aesthetic. Use large, lush plants or creeping vines to bring a bit of the wild, untamed look seen in the movie. Hanging plants or vines along the walls or around the mirror would give the space a slightly overgrown, ghostly feel. Wallpaper made to look like concrete or plaster is the old world balance this bathroom needs after the modern plumbing amenities. And last but not least; the Sand Worm, or snake as the modern day designer would call it, as seen in the sink area rug.
